Thank you for thinking of your SPCA for your pet needs. We have puppies, dogs, kittens and cats. The adoption process is simple. It begins with a tour of the available animals. Feel free to bring any current animals you guardian to see how everyone gets along (we have a beautiful "Get Acquainted" room). After choosing, please fill out an application (see below). Your application will be reviewed and if approved, the appropriate adoption forms filled out. Please be aware that larger dogs will require a fenced-in yard or large kennel. One of the animal caregivers will review the medical history, adoption forms, care information and additional vet services needed. Then you and your new family member are free to go home.
Our fees are very low. To adopt an adult dog is $80; an adult cat is $35. All adoptions include vaccinations (rabies too if at least 3 months of age), microchip, spay or neuter, a collar tag and a slip lead. Adoption fees for kittens are $65 and $160 for puppies. Occasionally we get purebreds and their fee is $150. We frequently run specials on adult cats and dogs. Stop by the Shelley Frith Drane Adoption Center and take a look. Ask about our special rates for senior citizens.
Animals are also available for adoption from animal control. If you choose to adopt a pet from animal control, it will be transferred to the SPCA to be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and groomed for the adoption fee of $50. If you choose, you can opt for other services for additional fees or you can opt for the grand package for $80, which gets your new adopted pet spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, heart worm tested, dewormed, and they will receive vaccines and flea and tick treatment.
