Wildlife starts waking up this time of year.

If your dog or cat tangles with a skunk here’s a home remedy that can help:
• Mix one quart of 3-percent hydrogen peroxide, 1 cup of baking soda, and one teaspoon of liquid soap.

• Apply it to your pet immediately.

• Massage through his coat and rinse (Peroxide can bleach a dog's coat so don’t leave it on more than 20 minutes).

• Don’t keep excess mixture--it can explode if confined under pressure.

• Don’t use this mixture around his eyes–instead try a diluted vinegar solution on his head and flush eyes with cool water only.

• Using rubber gloves can help keep the smell off you.

You may need to repeat this a couple of times.
