Next time you're feeling lousy and the thought of taking care of yourself and your pooch makes you even more pooped, consider this: Having your dog by your side can lift your spirits, which can help put you back on a healthy path. But don't forget that you need to make an effort to be extra hygienic when your immune system is weak. Always be sure to wash your hands after touching your dog, and wear rubber gloves when picking up after him. If you're too knocked out to give your dog proper attention, ask for help from a friend, neighbor, or relative.
